I have several good memories, like play poker with him, playing Forza and Gran Turismo, Medal of Honor, but the moments that really do mean a lot and stand out to me are the moments when I was in hospital for several years and he gave up his job to be near me, he took me to other places, he took me to a cafe that served my favorite food - at the time- which were sausages, he brought me toys, I couldn't go home so the hospital was my home and my Dad was really generous and loving to me, he is still like that now, but I'm not in a hospital, he's in France and I miss him, I can't wait to see him again.

That sounds wonderful! I hope you get to see him soon.

Sounds like you have a really cool dad :)
Unfortunately, mine passed away when i was 13. And my mom and dad got divorced when i was little, so i only got to see him every other weekend.
He was pretty musical too. Sometimes i wish i could show him all the songs i made and just talk about music and sing together.
I think my best memories are watching football (soccer) games with him. Sometimes there would be a game on in the evening and i'd ask my mom if i could watch it at his place. If it wouldn't get too late, he'd pick me up, we'd get some snacks and watch the game.

I also went on a couple of vacations with him. Mostly to Germany and one time we went to Belgium.
My brothers and sister would come along too.

In hindsight though, i've never really gotten to know him. I wish i could speak with him just one more time, now that i can think for myself and am my own person. We'd probably clash on a lot of things, but that's okay.

Sorry for this pretty sad comment, but your post just got me thinking.

My Pop passed away a few months ago. It's still hard for me to think about such things....
